Reconing is the process of removing all moving parts, including the voice coil, surround, and cone of a speaker and replacing with a new “kit”

Most professional speaker manufacturers offer replacement kits for their speakers, enabling the repurposing of a driver that may otherwise have been discarded. 9 times out of ten this provides a cost saving against the purchase of a new complete driver
